Hello Whyville! Time for hair experiment #3! My first experiment was published, and as I write this, my second experiment has not yet been published. In case you are a lazy ???poo head who won't look at those articles yourself, I'll tell you what they were about. My first experiment was about not shampooing your hair daily. My second was about how not shampooing or showering at all can make your hair different than usual.

This experiment is about the effects of two different shampoos, Herbal Essences and Pantene Pro-V. You've probably heard of them and seen their commercials. I happen to have both of them in my shower, but I never really compared the effects before. So, here it goes...!

Pantene Pro-V recommends on the bottle that you use it daily. So, I used it five days in a row and looked at the results. This shampoo has lots of vitamins to make your hair shiny. But, unfortunately, it has lots of chemicals to make it soft. It's not the most "natural" shampoo to use. Especially since the chemicals rid your hair of your natural vitamins, they can make your hair less healthy.

After five days, it was obvious that my hair was much more shiny and soft. So, it's up to you if shiny and soft is worth risking all those icky chemicals. I almost forget: a bonus is, it smelled great and everyone went around smelling my hair all day!

Herbal Essences. Ahhhh, nature. This stuff really made my hair feel clean and healthy. No, it didn't help with softness and shininess, but keep in mind, everything is herbal, so there are no chemicals helping it. In five days of using this, my hair was beautiful and light, and healthy. The bad part for some people is that, since it has tons of vitamins, but doesn't rinse your natural chemicals away, it brings your hair back to its natural state. I have curly hair which I straighten, so whenever I come out of the shower after using Herbal Essences, my hair is in ringlets. The reason for this is that it's keeping my natural vitamins in my hair, unlike almost all other shampoos.

Which one do you like better? Y-mail me and say why, and I'll write an article about the results!

Hope I Helped,
Jill20
