Hey, all you Whyvillians! This is swim1011!
Recently in the Times I have been reading a lot about 'kindness', in and out of Whyville.
I tried to think about someone being kind to another person, but I cannot think of anything ??? not a thing! Yesterday I heard on the news that a teenager had stolen an old lady's handbag and knocked her over, breaking her arm and causing damage to her head. Her husband was only 10 meters away. This made me feel sad. What if that was my grandma? But I then found out this women is in a stable condition, thank goodness.
In the Times, I read a letter from a parent. This also made me feel sad. I would have never thought people would be put off from coming on a friendly internet site because they weren't the ???popular??? people anymore.
One day I watched my school friend go on Whyville in her account. She looks different, but I wouldn't say it was ugly, and everyone has their own opinion. People went 'woah' and 'what happened?' to her. I did get a bit angry, but didn't do much. I don't think people should judge Whyvillians or humans by how they look.
When I was an unhappy newbie, someone said, 'Does anyone want to share a house with me?' so of course I said, 'Me, please!' The girl then replied, 'You aren't pretty enough.' Although now I realize I would have never have liked to share a house with someone like that, I still feel people should be kinder to newbies and people who look different.
One day on Whyville, my friends and I where minding our own business at the pool party and someone called us 'preps' (LoL)... I still find this dumb. I see no point in trying to put other people down.
I have told you three things on Whyville that have offended me. Three insults to one person. Now, I can finally think of one kind story.
It was not on Whyville; it didn't happen to me, but it did affect me. One day my grandma was out in her garden and she fell over. She was not able to get up or yell for help. Luckily, she was in her front garden. A man walked past and saw my grandma fainted on the grass. He called an ambulance. Another man helped carry her inside before the ambulance came. These were very simple acts of kindness, but you never know. They might have saved my grandma???s life.
I wish more people were like these men. I wish that on Whyville no one picked on people. We are NOT in primary school. I don't know what motivates people to judge people by how they look but I wish you would stop! There is no need for this. Maybe you should think about how you would like it eh? You may not get taped for this but think about how many people hurt peoples feeling each day on Whyville and at school.
Thanks for reading this. I hope this will make people stop picking on Whyvillians and school friends. Maybe now some people might donate some things to Grandma???s!
