Hey folks, it???s me, PinkGal23! I just finished reading an article by S3crets,
Cruelty on Whyville, when a vibrant yellow light bulb popped up in my head. Now you???re all wondering, WHAT? WHAT? And so I'll tell you.
Although in real life you cannot simply put some one in jail for misbehaving, this is far from real life. This is Whyville. There are no crimes to commit except hacking, which you can hardly be convicted for, and severe sexist, racist and anti-Semitic comments. However, how do Whyvillians know when they have gone too far? I believe they don't have a way, and then they are punished knowing they have done something wrong, but they have no idea exactly how wrong it was.
Thus, I conclude that we should have a set of written laws on Whyville. Somewhat like a constitution. Yes, a Whyville Constitution. Citizens should be able to submit rules to City Hall one at a time, and if City Hall approves them they are added to our Whyville Constitution. Failure to comply with any of the laws will result in a punishment, chosen by City Hall, which will fit the crime.
For example, if a citizen is asking for passwords all over Whyville and offering "MAKEOVERS", then they will be turned into a tater head and not allowed to makeover their own face for as long as City Hall decides.
I hope you like my idea! Please feel free to whymail me citizens, and please respond, Times Editor.
This is pinkgal23 signing off and hoping to get in the Times!
Editor???s Note: City Hall is working towards developing an official citizen-run government sometime this year -- when anything???s ready, you???ll hear here first! Until then, let me ask you -- is losing your face changing privileges really a sufficient punishment for someone who threatened your personal safety, both on Whyville and off? People who ask for passwords do much more than endanger your clams! How easy is it to use someone else???s account to get personal information about them, and find them in real life? TOO EASY!
Do NOT give out your passwords! How more direct can we be?
Apologies for the rant,
Times Editor
