Heya Whyville!
I'm here to talk to you about how scamming is back and WORSE than EVER! I know when I first started Whyville, scamming was all around and it consisted mostly of the line, "Can I give you a makeover?" I didn't know anything that I know now. I was hacked on this name, and though they didn't change my password, they took all of my clams and my favorite clothes.
Well then, I guess you could say scamming kind of left, and for a long time, too. For about a year, scamming didn't happen often and there wasn't much about it. I know because it never happened to me and for awhile no one would come on saying, "I got hacked, can I please have some clams?" Now they are again. And it came pretty much in a HUGE surge. I'm talking about people who talk to you, scam your password out of you, take everything and change your password. It's back.
I've been asked stuff like, "Can I raise your salary?" and "You need a makeover, I'll give you one". It's happening all over and more now. I think that by our talking in the Times and in chat about how certain people hack and everything, it's sparked more interest in hacking. We are telling people how to do it!
Those who think, 'it won't happen to me' or 'yeah right, when it does happen?', it doesn't matter what we say repeatedly. When someone asks me for my password or I know they're trying to hack me and says, "Want a makeover or want me to raise your salary?" I say, "What, you think I'm ugly, or do you just want to hack me and be a horrible person?" And for salary, I say I have plenty of clams and there's not much raising you can do, but thanks for the hack offer.
You have to be harsh to those people, because how many others have they probably hacked before you? Many, I'm sure.
That's what I think. We are telling people how to hack, and hack well -- hacking is back, so be on your guard.
Be safe,
Bye,
Zoey100
