Beneath the white snow
Lies a secret
Unrevealed until a certain time
When it will be cherished
The birds chirp their welcoming
And the flowers blossom in response
All waiting for this particular time
When the days grow longer
And the weather gets warmer.
The grass sprouts to life
As the buds in the trees expand
Enlightening
And expressing their beauty
The sun shines overhead
And as the snow melts
The secret unlocks itself
From hidden pasts
And beautiful memories.
Through the hustle and bustle
Of human activity
Lies on individual who is destined
To see the beauty
And experience the forgiveness
Of nature
And of Spring
And with the sniff of a flower
And a chip of a robin
That individual is sent off into a world
Never to escape.
To be the slave of nature
And all that comes
With the everlasting life
Elegance
And gracefulness
Of what we take for granted
Everyday.
