As I write this, the U.S. is finally getting ready for war with Saddam. It seems that if Saddam
doesn't leave Iraq in 48 hours there will be a U.S. invasion of the country.
From what I hear, thousands of Iraq citizens are leaving, expecting an invasion -- they are trying to
safe themselves and their children.
But, I wonder how the war would affect those living in the U.S., as well as other countries. Many of us
are already feeling the effects of high gas prices. What about those that have to leave to
go fight the war against Terrorism? Many of us are worried about our fathers and mothers that are in the
military, and some of us about our family members being drafted for the war. There seems to be so much
that is wrong with this situation and not enough answers to calm us.
It seems that most of us have nowhere to turn, but in fact, we do. Recently, I've started going to church
-- I have never embraced church or understood the words in the Bible before. But I have lately found that
the Bible is just a big instruction manual to healing your hurts and worries. And in this time of deep
worrying and crisis, I believe that we have to turn to our faiths to help us get through this.
Not all of us are of the Christian faith, but perhaps if we turn to our god and our faith, then we can all
pull though this. God always has a reason for the things that happen and it is usually a good one, because
I don't believe He wouldn't ever put us through anything without reason.
I encourage everyone to stay strong throughout this, no matter what happens. Love to everyone.
