I experienced a total change in personality over the last month, everyone. Just thought I'd let
you know. But I guess because you don't really know, you wouldn't able to
notice. Why am I telling you this? Well, I'm not really sure; maybe it will
be important later on.
Anyway, I've noticed that a couple people have had varying opinions in the Times recently.
I read in a couple articles that people use the word "love" too
much. I hear it constantly that there's too much fighting in Whyville. But which
of these is correct? And when do you start loving "too much"?
Define the word "love". Well, we can use any of these definitions:(1) affection
based on admiration, benevolence, or common interest (2) warm attachment,
enthusiasm or devotion (3) unselfish loyal and benevolent concern (4) to cherish
dearly.
So basically, if you love something (or someone), you care about them, or you
like them a lot. Love is an example of something harmless, maybe even good, that
our society has changed into something negative. And we've done exactly the
opposite with hate; we've taken it and we've made into something common,
something that is considered all right. It's okay to hate someone or something. (Every word
in that sentence was dripping with sarcasm.)
Since when do you only love your boyfriend or girlfriend? And why is it something
that we should feel ashamed of? If you lost a good friend, would you cry? Would
you cry because this person was important to you and maybe you might love them?
And what if you never told them that you loved them, and you missed that chance?
I admit it, that may seem a little cheesy, but we take others for granted way too
often!
I know most girls can relate to this, and probably a lot of guys, too. You're walking along with your
little group talking about anyone and everyone. It so easy to bring out people's weak points, isn't it?
It's easy to say, "Oh, I hate him!" or "Gosh, I just wanna strangle her!" In reality,
is that what you really want? Probably not. It's alright to get annoyed with people, but hate is such an
extreme.
I guess my personality change never really became important, but whatever. Who
cares? No one's got anything on me, but I've got nothing against anyone... well, maybe.
