Inspired by the article "The Story Behind Grandma", I have decided to create
another addition explaining the origin of other City Workers. Check it out for
yourself!
Bigfoot Bill had never been much of a socializer, especially when it came to
activities in the playground. He was constantly being ridiculed for his enormous
feet, which he bashfully hid behind a pair of beat-up sneakers. Jen and Mark
were quite the opposite. Both were outgoing and adventurous, eager to explore
and meet new people. However, they were considered the bullies of the school,
and pressured the students into giving them test scores and lunch money. Let us
say that they were not looked upon very highly.
Jen was popular, with envious looks and a sharp, witty brain. Mark was athletic
and excelled in sports and technology. William, on the other hand, had nothing
special to give, and was always seen with his anonymous friend who was constantly
writing and publishing stories for the school newspaper. Everyone said that he would be the next
successful editor, if only he had his one big break.
The students went to school in a rainforest, and were constantly testing out
science experiments and learning the latest in other subjects such as history
and English. A man ran the prestigious school, but no one called him anything
other than Jim, and some of the students named him Superid for his immense
intelligence and creativity.
It was Jim's goal that everyone work together, and he noticed that his
students were constantly taunting William. Upset and frustrated at this bubbling
predicament, he turned to the only thing he had faith in, education. For years
he tried to get Jen, Mark, and "Bigfoot" Bill to work together, but the two
popular students did not want to ruin their reputation with such a big-toed
goof. Nevertheless, Superid would not give up without a plan, and contacted one
of his friends in a very abnormal place.
Located on a deserted island, this city was run by a woman by the name of City Hall, who was a good friend
of Jim's. It was geared towards the education of students, something that Superid thought highly of.
"A-ha!" he said, "this is where my feuding students must go! They must learn to
accept each other's differences and get along. Of course, this is the Whyville Way!"
He ordered that Bigfoot, Jen, and Mark be sent to the mysterious place called
Whyville to work for City Hall, and during their time-span away they would learn
to befriend each other. They were not to leave until all of their
differences had been settled. Bigfoot's nameless friend would come along and
join them, since he never quite found happiness in school, and perhaps working
for the town's local newspaper would make him feel more comfortable.
At Whyville, the feuding scholars and their anonymous comrade met many
interesting and fascinating people, including Akbar and his French brother,
Grenouille, who helped to run the Face Factory. Grandma, Bob, and the other City
Workers greeted them with open arms and eventually they forgot about their
misunderstandings and learned to work together. Bigfoot's unnamed friend began
running the town's newspaper, and has shown an improvement in the quality of his
work, and happiness in his heart.
The gang admired the place called Whyville so much that they never wanted to
leave. Superid, seeing how they had been so successful, looked over them with
much pride, knowing that one day, they would help students strive for their goals
and learn and work together ???- much like they accomplished several years ago.
It has been many, many years since Bigfoot, Jen, Mark, and the Editor were students working with Superid in the rainforest. Now they have helped to establish and mature this wonderful place called Whyville. A place where everyone is welcome and encouraged to learn and be themselves. No longer is Bigfoot teased about his colossal-sized feet; though the Editor remains nameless to this day, they still remember the days when the weather was damp and the man by the name of Superid knew it all....
Moola Moola,
