Wherever I go, I hear more about the war! War... war... war! Ya, it's a big deal! I
understand. But my problem is with the anti-war protestors! Earlier, some of them were
found chanting, "No blood for oil" in both French and English. But this war is
NOT just about oil! Can't anyone see that? The Iraqi people WANT us to get rid
of Saddam!
I remember hearing stories about Iraq like this: the police will knock on a
woman's door yelling, "We found your missing son!" When the woman opened the door,
there was a body bag with her son in it! Then they told the woman she had to pay
for the bullets they used to kill her son. This happened in Iraq! Outrageous!
There are many other stories, but I wouldn't want to bore you.
I have compared
Saddam to Hitler. If we had stopped Hitler before he got too bad, we wouldn't
have had such trouble with him. Let's stop Saddam before he ruins what peace we
have left! He's a murderer! He's a murderer who's President of a country!
I've tried to look at the war from the anti-war protestor's side, and I still can't agree.
I've also met a lot of anti-war protestors, and most were husbands, wives,
parents, siblings, and children of the troops. Of course they wouldn't agree
with a war! Someone they care about will/is fighting in Iraq. But the people
have to realize that there was always a chance of something happening when their
loved ones signed up to be in the army/navy/marine core/air force... whatever.
No, I don't like war, and I don't necessarily agree with it, but sometimes it's needed.
Okay... *takes three deep breaths*... this is Firecat, saying good bye.
