This email was recently sent from one city worker to the rest of the team.  As you can see, Whyville's so complex that even we don't always know everything about it!  That's what friends are for...

This may be a silly question, but, eh....  When I am in Whyville, I am constantly finding myself wishing there was a shortcut for adding a person to my address book.  My guess is that we probably have this and I'm just missing it -- so one of you should point me in the right direction.

Just for reference sake, here's how I get people into my address book: usually, I'll be chatting with someone and then I'll double click on their head and go to their City Record, where I click on their head again to send them a message (jump to my mail & add them to my address book).  In order to add them to my address book, I have to send them a Y-mail.  I wish I could just check the box that says "add to my address book" without having to send them any Y-mail.  Actually, I wish I didn't have to go into my mail at all.  Do we have this function somewhere and I'm just missing it?

I'm sorry if we've gone over this before and I'm just stumbling upon it now.  I know that's annoying!

Thanks  :-)

And here's what was sent in response:

When you double-click the head in chat, there's a menu item, "Add Friend", which will do just what you want.  You can also send a blank Y-mail to your friend with the checkbox clicked -- no mail will be sent, but they'll be added to your list.
