Hey, Whyville. It's me, the great and powerful (?) chilibean
once again. Has anyone else noticed lately there have been a lot of articles in
our wonderful paper about hair? *Phew* I'm glad I'm not the only one!
In last week???s paper I saw an article by Leogirl about how to get your hair soft
and shiny. I believe the article was called "Gel and Conditioner". Now, I tried
what Leogirl instructed. Once I had mixed together my gel and conditioner, it
came out as foam. When I dried my hair, I didn't really see much difference.
Maybe it just depends on your hair type (or maybe it's affected by what's in the shampoo and conditioner you use?).
So today, my all-knowing mom told me about something that she used to do to get
shiny hair. All you have to do is wash your hair as you regularly do. Then, mix
together some vinegar and water. It's best to mix on a 1 to 3 ratio. (Ex: for
every 1 cup of vinegar, use 3 cups of water.) Be sure to use the right kind of
vinegar! If your hair is close to a brown shade (like me), use apple cider
vinegar. (I don't know why, I think it has something to do with the brown tint.)
If you have hair that is closer to blonde, use white vinegar. Once you pour your
concoction over your hair, rinse REALLY WELL. (Unless you like that smell of
vinegar. YUCK! :-P) Now all you have to do is dry your hair. Use the blow-dryer,
since I don't think this works as well if you just towel off.
Now, your hair should be shiny and feel weightless! (Why is it weightless?
Because this is also a great way to get rid of residue!)
I have one more tip for you before I go. If you want shiny hair, don't use a lot
of hair care products (gel, spray, etc). They can take away from your hair's
natural shininess.
I gotta fly! This is chilibean, signing off.
