Hello, fellow Whyvillians, this is Jdawggy asking you if you
have been to the Whyville polls lately. I have, just to see if any petitions
interested my vote. I can tell you one thing, I was DISGUSTED! Now wait, wait,
maybe I am being too harsh, but if you are an honest Whyvillian you might find a
petition or two a little far-fetched. Here are a few of my favourites:
1. I think Whyvillians should get 100,000 clams because clams are really hard to
get and the games are hard so give us clams!
Now, I am not going to mention any names, but those of us who came to this site to actually LEARN respect the fact that you need to earn your money by working and learning... that's exactly why this site exists. I've got a few more on my list:
2. I think everyone should be able to get land plots from Bob, because he never
has land plots so make a land plot for everyon so that Whyville can crash and
everyon could go without Whyville for months.
Well... okay, so I added the last part, but, honestly, people! If you are all upset because you have to wait until Saturday to get a land plot, well, just be grateful! This site (once again I mention this) was meant for learning, for discovering how things work, and being able to get some of your questions answered. It doesn't matter whether you have a land plot or not, because that doesn't get in the way of you learning... at least, I hope it doesn't! Anywho, let's continue:
3. I think we should get 10,000 clams on our b-day cause earnin clams is hard.
This kind of reminded me of my first choice, with a few differences. This person is asking for a birthday present, not a free salary. I can understand the present part, I mean a decent 10 clams or so wouldn't be bad for a birthday present, but 10,000?!? That could put poor old Akbar (and City Hall!) out of business. This idea is an all right one, but still needs to be reconsidered! There's more to go, so let's press on:
4. This really isn't a petition, and yet you will find it at the polls. You may
see a heading like this: "PLZ SIGN 100 clams AND FURNITURE IF YOU SIGN!!!!!"
These make me laugh. If you need to bribe somebody to sign your
petition, is it really that good a petition? And for those people who sign it for the clams
and furniture, shame on you!! I would never sign something without considering
whether or not I could benefit Whyville. Did you? Still a few more... come on, you can make
it!
5. I don't think there should be Why-Passes or a waiting room because the waiting
room is boring!
Heh, oh yes, let's get rid of the waiting room and Why-Passes so
that everyone can come on at once and crash Whyville. Is that really what
you want? Why-Passes and the waiting room keep Whyville alive... it's like its
heart. Without its heart, Whyville would disappear, because the servers couldn't
handle the 350,000 Whyvillians pouring onto this site all at once. Wow, my hands
hurt, but let's keep going!
6. Swearing should be allowed and there should be no banishing or taping!
HELLO! This site is intended for learning, which means young people will be on here,
and I am not sure if a young person wants to come on to this site to learn and
hear nasty language used frequently. And as for banishing and taping, it
is common sense, if you say something inaproppriate you will be taped. It is so
simple. If what you say is very wrong or you are a multiple offender, banishment
will be your next best friend! :-) You can't have a child-safe environment with
people swearing or using lewd phrases when they speak.
Ouch! There are more petitions that make me angry, but I can't post them all, my
hands hurt enough from writing so much already. I just want to say one thing: please think about some
of the petitions you make. Make sure it benefits Whyville so that we can have a
fun place to learn new things and answer our questions. That's it.
