Hello Whyvillians! SmileNOW here! I've recently read the articles in the Times about weight and staying healthy. For the most part, I totally agree with most of these articles. I think that it is very important to eat right, and to keep a good healthy diet during all stages of life. One thing I don't think is important is to be on a "diet" if you aren't 18 or older.

I believe that by the time you are 18, you are basically finished growing, and out of adolecence (spell it right for me if you can). If you aren't at that age, then you shouldn't "watch what you eat in a sense". I believe that for all people ages 11-17, it is important to eat until you aren't hungry anymore, and I think that going on a diet (unless ordered by a doctor, they know more than I do on this stuff!) is ridicoulous for all teenagers. Why? Because I think it is unhealthy for your growth.

How are you going to grow properly if you are "watching what you eat" and limiting what you eat even if you're still hungry? Here's my solution (it works for me and everyone I talk to) -- eat until you aren't hungry. That doesn't mean stuffed. that means eat until you no longer feel like you are hungry. I think that is the key to staying healthy, along with exercising, and eating the right stuff.

Editor's Note: What do you think scientific studies would show about this issue, folks? Can you think of experiments you can do yourself, *safely*? Can you go to the library or online or elswhere to find what adults have discovered about how nutrition affects your growth?
