Have you ever thought about the darker side of Whyville? The side that lurks beneath the animated green grass, or even past Grandma as she hands out donations to newcomers? I have, and believe this. It's not a pretty sight.

Beneath all of those animated cartoons lies a personality and a person. Some are vivid or vivacious, and like to help others as much as they possibly can. However, others are less willing and try everything in their power to destroy the hard work of others. This is evident in several Times issues, including that of Thursday, May 30, 2002, where a whole section of the newspaper was dedicated to advising Whyvillians against possible scams. I say, this isn't right. What has Whyville come to? Once a lively and cheerful town, Whyville has turned into a town where everyone must be cautious around their fellow Whyvillians.

Friendships have been torn apart, and the term "backstabbing" has come into effect. Fights have blown up over things where it could have been prevented. This has also become a daily occurrence, and along with this comes broken hearts and broken friendships. This may even lead to some Whyvillians quitting, because, there is "too much drama" for them to handle. You could even say that Whyville has started its own little "soap operas" which stars, you guessed it, Whyvillians themselves.

Therefore, as I finish this report, I ask you a question. Are you doing your part to make Whyville a better place? Are you the character in the soap opera that loves everyone and doesn't get himself/herself into too much trouble? Let us hope so.

This is rosepedal, trying to warn everyone as they step into the wrestling rings of Whyville... beware, folks!
