When you play ice hockey, it is a rule that you wear a helmet, unless you are
thinking back, really far back in time, or if you are in the NHL. But I don't
think many NHL players have joined Whyville!
You may be wondering what kind of helmet to wear. You want to know the best
kind of helmet, and that's what I'm here to explore.
Most of the time, girls are required to wear a full mask on their helmet. There
are two kinds you can choose from, Plexiglas and a cage. Here I have named the
advantages and disadvantages of both of them:
Plexiglas: It's very easy to see because it is clear plus it won't smash
or shatter. Except when you breathe on it the Plexiglas fogs up. You
can solve that problem by buying anti fog made especially for helmet shields. It
is available at most sport stores.
Cage: This face mask doesn't fog up. The bars can get in the way of
your vision, but not often.
Now that you've heard the facts about these helmet masks, I'm going to do a few
interviews with a few people that play hockey. And since I play hockey as well,
I'm going to put down what I would say to my own questions.
What division are you in?
Op3t32o: Peewee AAA.
Racer123: Midget AA.
Meg959: Atom B.
Are you required to wear masks on your helmet?
Op3t32o: Yes.
Racer123: Yes, we are.
Meg959: Yep.
Do you wear a cage or Plexiglas cage?
Op3t32o: Cage.
Racer123: Plexiglas.
Meg959: Plexiglas.
There you have it, the different kinds of helmets we hockey players wear. Now
all you have to do is choose what kind you want!
Not gonna get us,
