Hey all, Lilbeaut here. Whew. Haven't written for the Times in a while and I'm just getting into the swing of things. So what's up everyone? I'll tell you what's up: The new game Mancala, here in our very own town, Whyville. I played the game and here are some of my thoughts.

I'm sure almost everyone has heard about it. Who could miss it?! It's on the first page of Whyville when you type in your screen name and password. Now, I always read the announcements because they keep me updated on what is happening in our always-changing city. The news of Whyville would be very hard to follow if I didn't read it. Anyway, so I read: "We'd like you to help us test our newest multiplayer game. It's called Mancala, a very old game played all over the world, but not well known in North America and Europe. If you are a ClubWhy member, bring a friend with you and enter the Beta Test door inside Club Why." Well, what was I waiting for? Let's go!

So I entered Club Why. I am a member and went straight to the Beta games room. This room is crazy. There's the game board with marbles in a number of slots. I was really excited about it! I know how to play Mancala, so I jumped right in. Or at least, I wanted to. Everyone told me to get in line and wait my turn. The party had just been pooped... or something like that. This one person wouldn't give anyone else a turn to play. I had to wait a very long time. It was literally 20 minutes before I got to play. People are and were being very inconsiderate. They should have a couple games at the most, then let someone else have a whack at it.

Although the waiting was a turn off, the game itself was great! I loved it! It takes skill and a definite knowledge on how to play the game. At first, I had forgotten how to play Mancala. I lost those rounds I didn't quite remember all the rules. When it came back to me, I was doing pretty well. It's a great game. I think every Club Why member should try it this week. And if you aren't a Club Why member, wait till next week to play it in the Ability First Rec Room.

Next off, we have the decoration of the room/game. It is way cool. Whoever the artist (or artists) were for decorations, bravo! They are just plain awesome. The colors, the shape, the design! It's so interesting and captures the eye. I know I'm not your best art evaluator, but I think everyone agrees, the room is very snazzy.

Along with the game and the room being awesome, this game also helps our Whyville become more "united." With games like these, you can meet new friends and have some friendly competition. You learn how to play new games and develop techniques. It's a great experience that I believe every Whyvillian should have.

That's my quick overview of the new game, Mancala. You have to wait... A WHILE! But the game itself is awesome! It takes wits and knowledge of the game! It takes skill and technique! The design of the room is way cool. You'll be captivated! You also get to meet new friends (or enemies, if you're that kind of person.) You gain knowledge of the game Mancala, if you didn't know how to play before. You also learn how to strategize and beat your opponent! I, Lilbeaut, give it 2 THUMBS UP! It's great! Play Mancala today! LoL. I sound like an advertiser. Mancala beats any other game, or your Whyville pass is freee! LoL. Just kidding.

And that's the scoop!
