As you all know, you can't chat for 5 days when you join Whyville. I know it's annoying, but they are just trying to protect you on your first five days and encourage you to learn how to get around before being able to blab all day long.

When you do start talking, don't use any foul words -- it offends people and it isn't right. Nobody will want to talk to you. It's great to talk about what's going on and what's new, but don't talk to people who make you feel uncomfortable. If anybody is threatening you, you should report it. They shouldn't do that.

Now, about information -- be careful of what you give a way. You can people your name and how you look and stuff. BUT NEVER EVER EVER tell people where you live or give them your phone number! In Whyville, you're not supposed to give out your email or instant messenger information, because they can't be sure how safe that is. Even on Whyville, beware -- it may be safe, but people can still say pretty much whatever they want to, even some swears that get by the filter.

Whyville is the safest place to chat, though, and that's great.

I'm going to be interviewing on polls soon, so look for me!! Talk to you later.

By the one and only,
Merp

Editor's Note: City Hall is adding more of those badly-spelt swears to the filter list -- email city-management@whyville.net to tell her what words should be included in that list!
