As you all know, a few weeks ago I did an article about the richest in
Whyville. Well, when I sent that article in, carolina was the richest at
the time. But now someone else is the richest in Whyville!
Her name is
Riven. She has more than 10,000 clams!
So like I did with carolina, I did an interview with Riven, and now
you have a chance to find out Riven's point of view on the subject and
how she felt when she reached this outstanding goal!

Riven, how did you feel when you found out you were the richest person in Whyville?
Since I didn't realize I was the richest person in Whyville, it didn't
mean much at first. But now that I know, I feel sort of excited, I guess.
But I hope this won't make people see me differently. I am still the same as
I was before I knew I was the richest.
How did you get so many clams?
At first I started out by making sure I played all the games, so I could get
the highest salary as I could. ("I really want a couch!" was all I could think
of.) I knew there were things I wanted to buy and the only way was to get
down to work. Once I got about 400 clams (with spending in the meantime,
the first thing i got was a couch), I decided to make something and see if
it sold. Well, my "manly mustache" went nowhere, (I sold 2) and that put
me off for a while. But then I saw all the girls at school buying real
bandanas, and I decided that night I would try making one. I also knew
that in order to make money I would have to spend money and dish out the
money for the big square. I took a couple hours to get that first purple
one right, and the rest is history. I didn't really realize that it would
be such a hit. Now I have to log on everyday just to keep them in stock.
What is your best advice to all the Whyvillians out there trying to reach the
top like you?
My best advice is to play all the games and also try your hand inventing a
face part. I know using the mouse is really tricky and you may have to try
it and not actually make something and get a refund from Akbar's till you
get enough practice to get it right. Believe me, they have refunded me
enough times for things I never finish producing.
Did you do anything special to get this amount of clams?
No, I didn't. I just found a product everyone liked. I think that happens in
real life too.

Did plan on doing anything with your clams?
I wasn't really planning on doing anything with the clams. I buy stuff
when I want it, I even buy stuff for others when I think they want it.
But, what can I say, there are just so many green chairs you can buy.
There really isn't much else I want. But I enjoy making things at Akbar's.
And, shelly1, if you keep up with making those new peasant tops you have
desinged, it won't be long before you are passing me for top place.
Do you think that clams are the only thing in Whyville that are good?
No, Whyville is a great place to have fun and learn new stuff, hey, I
learnt to fly a hot-air balloon and even where some intesting places were
by playing the alien game. It is a place to socialize and have fun with your
new friends. If you are willing to try new things and even take tips from those
around you, you will do fine. The clams aren't all that are necessary to
really enjoy whyville. (I love a good football game or even a water balloon
fight. Just look for me with the pie on my face!) --Your friend, Riven.
Riven has a different view on being the richest member of Whyville than
carolina. But still neither of them think that clams are the best things
in Whyville. There are many other things to do in Whyville than to just
worry about the clams. So go make some friends and enjoy Whyville!
Yours Truly,
