I have been on Whyville for about 2 1/2 years now. I became a Y-mail Helper I
think almost a year ago. I'm not positive but it's been a while. Well, back in
the days before the waiting room and when you clicked the big octopus dude to
register for Whyville, I didn't really get that much mail. Today, however, when I got
online I had 27 messages. And, did you know that about 4 of the messages I got
had relevant questions in them? By relevant, I mean "actually important
questions that I had not answered about 50,000 times before."
Every day (without fail) I get at least 5 e-mails asking me if I will give
so-and-so some clams. Now, let me make this extremely clear: I will not give you
clams, but I will tell you how to make clams for yourself.
I am not here to send people clams. I am here to help, however. I also get a lot
of mail asking me to un-banish/un-tape people. I'm sorry, but I cannot sprinkle a
little fairy-dust and wave my wand to unbanish you. First of all, how do I
know you were unjustly banished or taped? You must have done something very
serious to be banished and you must have done something serious to be taped.
Also, if you say you have been banished, you might just be saying that in order to get
into someone else's account.
Another thing, I cannot banish people! That is City Hall's decision. I AM NOT
CITY HALL. I have no special privileges. I do not get paid to do this. I am just
a person (same as you), only I help people through Y-mail. Don't get me wrong, I
love my job! It's very rewarding knowing that you have helped someone.
As a Y-mail helper I am here to help, and that is what I will do until I can't
do it anymore. :) So, thanks for listening. I hope this cleared up some
misconceptions you or someone else may have had about me and the other helpers.
Oh, yeah! And one other thing. Many, many, many, many, many people want to know
if they can become a Y-mail Helper, too. This is something you can E-mail City
Hall about, at
city-management@whyville.net.
Just another person,
