Hey all, Lilbeaut here. As usual I was reading through the Times looking at all
the great articles, wondering what my next scoop would be about. I got it. I was
reading Twigsy's article, Stop the B/C's. I totally disagree
with her. Us Whyvillians are more mature than that.
Twigy's article stated that we should stop Beauty Contests. Why? She said that
lots of the rich people are prettier then the poor people. Poor people do not
have enough clams to go out and look SNAZZY. She said that rich people could buy
anything they want and look like a million bucks. LoL. She said that anyone who
participated should receive a prize. No one should feel left out. She also said
that people feel left out if they do not win anything.
I totally disagree with
her. We should not stop beauty contests. They are a part of Whyville.
Now, here's my thoughts on beauty contests. If you are going to participate in
one, please know that you might lose. Don't be in the beauty contest if you are
a sore loser! If you can take the awful, dreadful *note the sarcasm* loss of
losing
a BEAUTY CONTEST, join and have some fun. Try your luck. But if you are going to
be a sore loser, don't bother. You'll just make yourself feel bad, along with everyone
else around you.
Now Whyvillians, we aren't 2 years old and screaming for our bottles. I think we
can handle the fact that there will be losers and there will be winners. That's
life. Time to get with it. Is it really that big of a deal if you lose to a
silly beauty contest in Whyville, a computer game? Besides, if you feel
insulted, thinking someone thinks you are ugly, don't think that. What you look
like on Whyville and real life is totally different. Don't take it to heart if
you don't place in a beauty contest.
Secondly, about what Twigsy said about the rich and the poor: Actually, poor people
can look really good. They can search around Akbar's for cheap parts or knock
offs of expensive parts. If you give it some effort you can look the same as
someone rich. You can also save up for a while and not have a few good ones. I don't think being rich or poor ALWAYS makes the
difference. Depending on how creative you are, you can look a thousand times
better then someone rich.
Finally, I do not think we should quit having beauty contest because some people
can't face loss. Come on. We aren't in diapers anymore. Grow up.
