On Sunday, July 7th, two conjoined Iranian twins put their lives to risk,
to come out of the pain and all the grief they had in this world. The two
sisters, Ladan and Laleh Bijani knew the risks of this surgery. They knew that
one or both of them could die. The sisters went into this surgery
with brave hearts, hoping to come out and see a much easier world... but no,
the surgery went wrong... Ladan Bijani passed away as her blood circulation
failed, and her sister Laleh passed away when her circulation failed one and a
half hours later.
These were 29 year old women; they were both law graduates. Doctors
called this operation "Operation Hope".
I am not sure if many people kept up to
date with this but, I found it really sad, after all these years they finally
decided to have this operation to make better lives for themselves, I know that
many around the world prayed -- I would say thousands, MILLIONS! -- whoever had the
heart to care and knew about this would send a prayer, no matter what religion.
We want to thank so many people for their prayers -- whether they are Christian,
Buddhist, Hindu, or Muslim -- everyone had been praying for the twins, and we
are grateful because as doctors we know there's only so much we can do, and the
rest we have to leave to the Almighty.

I was really upset when I heard this happened, and decided I should share this
story with the other Whyvillians, to make them see the courage of others, we
always think that we have problems with our bodies, like I hear people say this
a lot: "omg, my legs are like this, my hands are like this, my hair is like this,
my eyes are like this, my nose is like this, my mouth is like this..." etcetera.
I just realized how grateful I should be for every single piece of my body. The
problems we "may" have are problems that we can deal with, so please send up
your prayers to all the people with forms of disability or challenge.
God rest their souls.
