Hey, koolgrrl here. I'm here to teach you a couple of fun
projects. It doesn't matter what you do, but make sure you
try one of these because they're sure to work! Just make certain you have the
right supplies, and you're ready to start. Depending on your age, you
might want/need to have an adult with you.
Have you ever had any trouble finding paper in the house? Or have you ever had
to borrow paper in class to take notes? Well, here you can make your own homemade
paper! It's fun and cool!!!
Materials:
-several sheets or newspaper, torn into pieces
-bowl of water
-beater
-corn starch
-window screen
-rolling pin
-waxed paper
Directions:
-Tear newspapers into small pieces and soak in a bowl of water overnight.
-The next day, beat the mixture this creates until creamy.
-Add two cups of water with 3 tablespoons of corn starch. Beat until smooth.
-Coat a piece (small) of window screen with paper mixture. Drain and smooth out.
-Place a screen atop lots of newspapers to drain, and cover with waxed paper.
-Roll with rolling pin. Lay heavy books on top.
-Allow recycled paper to dry overnight.
-Peel 'paper' off screen.
That wasn't too bad, was it? It just took a couple of days to do it, that's all.
You get a pretty interesting result. Now, if you liked that one and want to try an even better one,
check out my next
project!
