Yup. it's me with more animal stuff. I did that giraffe article from a few weeks ago. Sorry, I'm really bad with remembering to put my name on my papers! Anyway, I decided, why don't I do an article on kangaroos? So here I am, writing an article about kangaroos. =^)

Common Name: Red Kangaroo

Scientific Name: Macropus rufus

The red kangaroo is a large kangaroo with long hind legs and feet. It has a thick, long tail. It can be red, grey, or both colours together. Males have a head and body length of about 165 cm (65 inches) and their maximum weight is 82 kg (180 pounds). The females are much smaller.

Male kangaroos, or bucks, don't really fight when it comes to protecting the herd. When trouble comes, the herd scatters in all directions! However, they do fight when it comes down to breeding rights: the bucks will kickbox! The two opponents clasp arms and try to kick the other in the stomach.

To prevent getting really hot, kangaroos take naps in the afternoons, and do most of their grazing at night time. But the main thing they do to keep cool is the spit bath. They will drool and lick saliva all over their bodies and faces!

Hope you liked it! I might be writing more animal articles soon.
