After reading Black Like Me, an article I found very thought provoking, I
thought that what this girl was saying can't be true. I have a couple of friends who
are black on Whyville and are very popular, one of them a very good friend
of mine. I felt that Samgirl21 failed to research a bit, actually. I mean, plenty of
people on Whyville who have been "black" since they started haven't gone through
so many racist acts.
Though I have to admit there are a few racist people on
Whyville, it isn't just about color. I have met people who make decisions about
you based on your style, even
your
hair color (in the past I did an experiment involving a blond haired girl and
a black haired girl and found the blond haired girl made more friends faster
then the black haired one did). But I still find that there are many people like
myself who believe that there can be a bright tomorrow, that the people who are
racist will in time know that how they think is wrong.
I hope that you the reader know that prejudice isn't just about race, but many different
things! Thank you for your time and pass on this information so, through
time, racist
people will come to know they are not welcome to Whyville unless they change
their ways!
