I would like to announce my candidacy for Whyville Senator. Lots of you may know me already, and for those who don't, My name is JayR.

I have been a member of Whyville for a couple years now. I can't say I have always been the model citizen because I have been taped and fined a few times, but like we all should, I learned from my mistakes. If I was elected senator of Whyville, these are a few of the ideas and goals I had in mind to better Whyville; please read each and every one of them, because they are all different and I'm sure you'll agree and/or support most of them.

First item I will mention are the face parts. We work hard on every part we design, so therefore I do not agree with Whyville when they talk of removing face parts that are older than 2-3 months old. I understand Whyville needs the server space; however, what about all those parts that were created months, and even years ago and still sell in the high numbers? I would try to negotiate with the Whyville staff to keep any face part that sold over a certain number of parts, fifty or more, example. I think that is the best thing to do. Any part that doesn't sell more than ten parts, example, should be removed completely. There are too many face parts that are spectacular and well worth keeping in Whyville, and I think that this is the only way to go about it that would make both sides happy.

Houses are another issue I'd like to discuss. Although I have been on here for a couple years, I still never got a plot, since they were never available. I had to move in with a friend. Yet over the past two years, I've seen lots of members banished. Out of those members, some had plots. Why were the plots never made available to other Whyville members? Seems every member I talk to can never get plots. A lot of the members I talk to also do not utilize the plot they were fortunate enough to get. This may be a solution worth looking at on Whyville. I bet the majority of you would give up your houses to keep face parts on Whyville, doing so would free up server space. I would work with Whyville on making sure there were either more plots for EVERYONE to use, or none at all in which they can utilize the server space for other Whyville services.

Locate Your Friends! How many times would you like to just sign on to Whyville and go to city records and be able to see if your friends were on, and which room they were at? I think this would be a great tool for Whyvillians to use, one that I definitely am going to lobby for. So much time is wasted going room from room looking for your pals, when sometimes there not even in the room, they could be changing and/or in Akbar's Mall. I think this would be beneficial to citizens, a great added bonus, wouldn't cost anything or take up space, just a matter of programming code.

One thing I thought would be nice for Whyville to have is a bank, and this is another I will lobby for. Having a bank would also be beneficial for Whyville citizens. We could benefit educational-wise, and learn about personal finance. We can make deposits, withdrawals, and do transfers. The Ledger can still serve as a check register. Whyvillians can deposit most of there money in lump sums, and in one step, and the bank can keep track of the account. The citizen will only be responsible for the money they are currently holding in their satchel. This might also help with hacking. If a citizen was hacked they would only have so much clams, the rest would be deposited in the bank, so the hacker wouldn't get away with much. The citizens can use a pin number to access there account, and maybe also a secret question.

My idea about a secret password question would also work for the way citizens accounts are set up. When a user is hacked the emails are changed and passwords are set and so on, and there is nothing Whyville can do once an account is taken. I think adding a secret question when you make an account would help some to control hacking. The secret question would have to be answered by only something the owner knows, and if the question is answered incorrectly you can't change any information in the account, like the email and passwords.

I would like to start a scholarship award fund or a charity fund for those who put forth the extra effort in Whyville to write, to participate in debate teams, or those who cannot afford parts (charity). Not everyone is as fortunate as some of the Whyvillians who possess a great number of clams, and artistic skill to create the parts that make them millions of clams and there are some citizens out there I'm almost positive would like to donate clams to this worthy cause, that can be awarded once or twice a month to a few members.

These are just some of the ideas I have for Whyville. Please consider voting me for Whyville Senator, because like I said, I have been a citizen of Whyville for two years, I am very knowledgeable about our town, and existing problems, and issues. I listen to all members alike, I don't discriminate, and every citizen would be heard. I would try to help each and every one of you, and help Whyville become a better place!

Vote JayR for Whyville Senate!
