Now, I was looking at the Whyville BBS in
Dr. Leila's, and some of the most common things that I saw in there
were things like: How do I get
clothes
and hair?? This question is asked by everyone, and not
just by newbies. Let's face it: unless a friend has shown you the ropes
already, or you already know how
to get clothes and where to go, etc., it's kind of hard to figure out!
So that's why I'm writing this article, because I know that it's hard
being a newbie in a new place. Let's just say I've been there,
and done and tried that.
For one thing, unless you go to Grandma's
(she's the one who gives away donated clothes, furniture, bricks,
etc.), you need money to get clothes and hair, a face, and accessories.
If you want to know how to get clams, just go to the front page of the
Whyville Times and click Search at the top of the screen. Then, type in
clams and see what comes up. The articles there can and will help you!
Now that we're past the issue of clams, let's
discuss HOW to get clothes. As I mentioned, one place to get clothes
and a face is Grandma's. You can get to Grandma's from your pull-down
menu on your bus on the left-hand side of the screen. The only thing
about Grandma's is that, when the Whyvillians aren't donating things to
her, then she doesn't have anything to give. Oh, and Whyvillians who
have enough clams to get clothes, please don't take from Grandma too
often, because then the people who really need the things from Grandma
can't get them (since they're all gone)!
Okay, back to the subject. The most common
place to get clothes, I think, is at Akbar's, which you can go to
from the pull-down menu on your bus in the left-hand side of your
screen. At Akbar's, for all of you who don't have a lot of clams,
there's a Bargain Basement at Akbar's, just for you! You can search for
parts you need at Akbar's, and also for parts that you just want. It's
a really good way to find just what you're looking for, or if you just
want to browse. Sometimes, for instance, if you just look up "hair",
there are SO many parts with that name, and containing that word, that
they may ask you to narrow down your search, maybe by looking for brown
hair, black hair, blonde hair, or cool hair, rather than just hair.
As
you can see, Whyville is there when it comes to helping out people of
the community!
