Kirbie393 here. Are you stressed? There are some surprisingly easy ways to relax and relieve your stress.

1. Drink some water. Yes, obvious, but it's still underestimated how a nice glass of ice water can cool your emotions and relax you.

2. Meditate. Okay, before you start laughing (as many people do when I suggest this), let me explain. I don't mean sitting in yoga cross-legged position on hard floor, hands in the air and saying "Ohmmmmmm...." By meditating I mean sit loosely and comfortably on the floor or on your bed. Close your eyes, and relax your brain. The hard part is erasing your thoughts, which obviously cannot be completely done. Instead, try not to dwell on the problems, or anything else; concentrate on your breathing, and feel it become deep and relaxed.

3. Have a blender? Throw together a smoothie! There are two recipes I find work quite well. #1. What you need: 1 cup cubed watermelon, 1 cup blackberry or raspberry sorbet, 1 tbsp. fresh lemon juice or lime juice, 9 large ice cubes (or 8 small ice cubes).  #2. 1 cup fresh or frozen blueberries, 1 peach, peeled, pitted, and sliced (or 1 cup frozen peach slices), 1 cup vanilla, peach, or blueberry low-fat yogurt, 1 cup 1% or skim milk (2% doesn't work as well -- anything else, not at all, I'm not sure why, though), and 3 large ice cubes (or four small ice cubes). They are really refreshing!

4. If all else fails to reduce your back-to-school, or other, stress, run yourself a nice bath. Girls, add bubbles, some fragrances, a candle and maybe play some relaxing music. Boys, same to you, if you dare!

Kirbie393, over and out.
