Hey everyone, this is Sugarz. I am hoping this article gets
accepted because the topic of this story has changed my life. This
morning I recieved
news that my 2 year old cousin will go blind.
She does not have a view
like
you or I -- she only sees straight in front of her, not above or below.
While I was visiting her this year, I noticed she had some
problems
with her eyes and had problems falling over me. This morning when I got
this news, I was really hurt, imagining how life would be for a kid
this
small,
already not knowing much and learning new things each and every day.
When she wakes up she cries for her mom... what happens now when she
can't see
her? How will they develop a motherly touch?
I don't see my cousin much because we
don't live in
the
same country, but here I go with my story...
As we all go through our lives we face
many
challenges. Some of
us are more
fortunate than others, and some of us have lost many. We seem to forget
about
other people's troubles and find our own small problems, like our
appearance. For
instance, I for one have small zits that I realize now you can't really
see, and I had been complaining about
that... now I see what other people have to deal with. It's not just
going
blind,
there are many other situations. Have you heard the story on the news
saying 57
people were killed on a Ferris Wheel? Or other deaths and disasters at
various activities. Many
of us say "that
won't happen to us". Well, THIS happened to my little cousin. Do you
know
how painful it is
to know someone that will go blind in their near future and have no way
of helping
them? It's an ordeal that will change your life, and change your views
on things.
I never thought this would happen to
anyone I knew,
but it
did. I am not saying that people who are blind can not succeed. What
I'm trying to do is let
everyone know that this CAN happen to you or anyone you may know. As
humans we try and
prevent ourselves from crying when things like this happen, we hold
it in,
tearing at ourselves, but why? Your tears show you care, how you
feel. Why
I brought this up was because I tried to not cry about this in front of
my
parents, but that day at lunch I burst into tears, gasping for breath
to get air between my tears.
Some people may wonder why I wrote
this. It's
because when
someone you
love gets hurt, it hurts you, too. We are never aware of the things
that others
have to deal with. As we are sitting here reading this, there are
millions of people in
the world going through ordeals so hard. Stop worrying about how you
look or what
others will see you as; BE GRATEFUL FOR WHAT YOU HAVE. You'll see how
much you have
then...
Thank you; please send out your prayers.
This is Sugarz, saying please pray. :')
