Bigfoot Bill has
an excellent idea. I love the idea of an honor code.
But I think we need to back it up with laws and a constitution.
No
Whyvillian should "make another Whyville resident uncomfortable through
his or her actions." That's great, but we need to say what actions make
Whyvillians uncomfortable and how these actions should be dealt with.
Someone could say, "So-and-so made me uncomfortable by standing too close
to me." How do you find a punishment for that, or do you punish that
action at all?
We need to make a list of actions that make Whyvillians
uncomfortable (cursing, etc.) and find punishments to fit the crime. I
think that duct taping people is a wonderful solution to cursing. I
know that a lot of people don't agree with me, but that is my opinion.
I think duct tape serves three purposes:
- it mutes the person so that he/she can't cuss for the length of time that
he/she is duct taped
- it makes it nicer for people to come to the chat rooms without having
to see nasty words flashing on their screens
- it shows other Whyvillians that cussing will not be tolerated
Well... that's my opinion.
Keep up the good work, City Managers. This little cyber-town just keeps
getting better and better.
