Hey
there!! Today I would like to discuss a book that I recently read,
entitled Princess in Waiting by Meg Cabot. It is the fourth book in the
popular series. It is quite funny because Mia's conflicts with people
show how mature and yet naive she is. I don't want to give away too
many details, but here is a run-down.
The
rookie princess, Amelia Mignonette Grimaldi Renaldo (or Mia Thermopolis
for short), begins a budding relationship between her and the Genovian
people. Another fresh romance in her life is with Michael Moscovitz,
the brother of her best friend, Lilly. She begins to discover that she
is not a failure in her life, nor is she a freak. Her friends also
change, mostly for the good. Lilly gets her big break, and Shameeka
"throws a blow for geeky girls everywhere". Tina also has trials and
tribulation in her romances. Mia has to put up with her conceited
cousin Rene and his reckless attitude. Toward the end, Mia's
grandmother Clarisse Renaldo finally shows that she isn't all business,
and there are soft spots in her heart.
Overall, I thought that the book was entertaining. I don't think that some younger Whyvillians will understand, but readers will get a kick out of it. I hope that in future books Mia will grow out of her self-consciousness.
Maybe there will be a Princess Diaries 2, we just don't know!
