I am a first time writer to the Whyville Times, but this is an important
on-going issue. Just the other day, I was on the Beach, soaking up some sun (ha
ha ha, not) when a person wearing all white plus white skin went up to a person
in black skin and said, and I quote: "Black people will never be as superior as
white people!"
I knew I had to do something! And yet, I watched it happen. I didn't
say anything. I should have spoken up, because he started saying very awful
stuff to him and me. I filed a 911 report on the person
for racism. Then just yesterday, a different person did almost exactly the same
thing. But this time I spoke up. He left the room, and said nothing except he said sorry to
the person he was rude to. I didn't need to file a 911 report on him for racism
fortunately, that was a warning. As you can see, when I spoke up, there was a better
result. If you see racism you should definitely report it!
Everyone, please work
together as a Whyville Citizen, because if we work together, we can help STOP
RACISM in Whyville.
This is Willajean reporting and signing off.
