Hey everyone! I am going to let you in on a little secret. Do you want
know how to be a part of Whyville without having a high salary? Anyone can do
it: All it takes is brainpower and a little creativity to write for the Times.
There is a hard part and an easy part to submitting to the Times. The hard part
is the actual article. You need to write it as though it is a term paper, such
as proper spelling and punctuation. You can increase your chances of publication
by having a creative idea. You can find great article material just by reading
the newspaper. The easy part is the submitting. You just send in a email to
times@whyville.net, with the subject line worded like this:
What section:Title,
username on Whyville. An example is this: Hot Topics: Talk to the
Animals, minty0323.
Before I end this article, I would like to give you some advice if you get your
article published. You cannot please everyone. I wrote an article called "A
Former Influence", and some people sent me hate y-mails, and some praised my
writing, and some just took the article all wrong. If you write what is in
your heart, it will make for an interesting article no matter how much every
hates it.
Finishing my summer off,
minty0323
Editor's Note: If you copy/paste the subject line
into the top of the body of your email, that helps a lot, too. Thanks to
all my many great writers of the past and future!
