"Whyville. Ah, yes. A perfect place for the
perfect crime." --SkUmBag68
Hey! Could it be any more annoying when you see this guy ask
for a newbie's account and they come on in a new account
later, saying somebody hacked me please help? Well, the person I'm gonna describe to you
kids is serious. A serious stupid scumbag.
His name was SkUmBaG68. He wasn't your average person enjoying Whyville. Well,
maybe he was enjoying it, but instead of the normal way, he was enjoying scamming plenty of Whyvillians
out of their own accounts and sending all the things he stole to his main
account. To all the scammers out there, he was their idol, he was the one
who made scamming famous. Well, not THAT famous. Still, he had the
nerve of writing to the Times, describing how to scam and revealing his scamming
history. He taught those who wanted to get rich the risky way and
explained to those who didn't want to lose their furniture what to watch out
for.
After the stupid incident of writing to the Times, he started to get a lot of
feedback and bad reviews from the audience. Yes, he enjoyed every single
bit of attention -- which makes me think that people shouldn't have written to
the Times about the topic of SkUmBaG68 and more blah blah blah, even if it
encouraged awareness of the scamming. In any case, then the readers became
more alert, and they wrote more stuff about other scams and hence there became a
section called Whyville Crime. There couldn't be a more helpful section.
It's been a very, very, very long time since anyone mentioned his name, so I
have brought back the topic for you newbies and so-bies who weren't here before
March 21st, 2002. I have been there and know a lot about the way he
treated Whyville. He treated Whyville like scum and he sure took it out on
us: "People are stupid," he wrote. "Stupid, stupid, stupid. And
I mean YOU! Did that mean all of Whyville or just me?
This scumbag guy used the "I'll raise your salary" trick and the
"girlfriend/boyfriend" tricks, like "Give me your password if you really love
me." These are old tricks from the book. Anyway, everybody knows
that if somebody raises your salary it's cheating, which you're told as soon as
you join Whyville -- and you're also told NEVER GIVE OUT YOUR PASSWORD.
SkUmBaG68 didn't even have feelings for the person behind the computer screen
that was hurt after they robbed their account.
This guy definitely has an issue and he could be your friend, the person you're
talking to, or your neighbor. Whatever was up with him, I hope it's gone.
It shows you that any of the people you know can be friends or strangers. You just have
to
remember this phrase: NEVER EVER GIVE OUT YOUR PASSWORD.
There is not much to say about him which is good.
It's starting to thunder outside, so I'm
gonna go hide under my bed.
He has been forgotten... until now.
