How many times have you gone to a website you are signed up for with an account and forgotten your password? I know I have done that a million times. That's why I want to share with you Whyvillians a great alternative to keeping your password in your brain.

Okay, it is always a good idea to remember your password yourself, but make sure it is not easy to guess or common. Say your name was Sarah -- a bad password for you would be Sarah, but a better one might be the name of your dog, like Freddie or something... only Freddie is also obvious to people who know you, so change it to fred1, making the 1 the I and getting rid of the last E.

My life saver when it comes to passwords is this: I go find a pencil, some Scotch tape (tm) and, since my computer is against a wall, I write my current password on the piece of tape and stick it to the lower back of my computer, or sometimes under the monitor. This has saved my accounts many times before, because I could log on right away instead of waiting for the system to email it to me.

This works not only for Whyville but many other sites where a password is required. I hope this helps you out next time you forget your password!

This is brewlea, logging off.  If you need any more help you can why-mail me as always, and I will be sure to reply. Have a good one!
