This is Sonner with a special report about something that just occurred at the Greek Theatre.
I logged onto Whyville and noticed a sign: "Whyville Trivia Contest!" to
be held at
the Greek Theater. Since I was curious, I went to check. I at first couldn't get
into the Greek Theatre because the room was full. I got in once, but
accidentally
clicked out. Woe was me. Then finally I got in the Theater for good.
I saw City Hall on the center stage, asking questions to lucky Whyvillians who
were picked to go down to the stage and answer trivia questions in order to win
clams. You could win a lot of clams, over 200. The first question was worth
25 clams, the second was worth 50 clams, the third 100 clams, the fourth 200
clams, etc. It doubled each time.
How the contest worked was, Whyvillians would shout out,
"PICK MEEEEEEEEE PLEASE!" If they were lucky, City Hall would pick them. Then the
questions started. They were questions which covered lots of subjects: math,
history, science, biology, plus some more. But I must say only one person won
clams -- she won 100 clams! :) She did better than I did when I got to answer
questions. I was lucky enough to get brought onto the stage; my question was, "What in
the periodic table does Helium stand for?" I had no clue and got it wrong (I
guessed "H!" It is actually "He"). Shucks! Eh? I'll
never forget that
question again! I lost my chance of winning but I still had fun for the 6
seconds I was up there.
The game was almost like a game show. We also had a
brief appearance from city worker Turnip. She kept on cheering people on with
the questions
and saying, "GO GO YOU CAN DO IT!"
We all had fun at the Trivia Contest. But to
you people who may have missed it... don't worry! Just before she left, City
Hall
said there will be another quiz next week!
Also... one more thing. Try to get to the Greek Theatre early. It takes a long
time to get into the Theater when you go at the time it starts. You may
never get in if you don't go early.
This is Sonner reporting. Now signing off!
