Endless hours at the
Stables
Pool
Malls
And stretched out
Lethargically
On a hammock while sipping
Cool
Sweet
Lemonade.
The late nights
And long days
All blended together like a
Perfect smoothie
Seem like distant memories
From the past
Even though they
Only ended a month
Or so ago.
I???m losing contact with
Summer friends who
I don???t see much of
Because of school.
They claim they miss me
And I miss them
But my smoothie
Of late nights
And long days
Has been slurped
By the school system.
It???s back to books
Homework
Tests
And the tedious
Five day grind
With two days of summer
Plugged on the end.
The stress and pressure
Building up
And if it weren???t for those
Two days of summer
I???d probably
explode.
