Yesterday at 6:00 p.m. a new exciting thing happened in Whyville! There was a trivia game! Were you there? I was there and saw it all unfold.

I logged on Whyville at 5:30 p.m., thinking I would check my mail, check to see if the face factory was open yet, and challenge some people for SmartCars racing. But as I logged on, a message came up on the welcome screen. "Whyville Trivia Contest at Greek Theater at 6:00 p.m." Now, I love trivia. At 7 p.m., our TV is on and showing Jeopardy. When my TV started getting the Game Show network, I watched it for a week for about 3 hours a day. (Yes, it's unhealthy. But did I care? NOOO!) So of course, I headed for the Greek Theater.

"Too many people are in that room. Please try again later."

Later? I only had 15 minutes! So I continuously tried to get in. It took about 10 tries! Has the Greek Theater ever been this crowded before? Maybe for Giggler01's inauguration or the senator debate.

Finally, I got in. I sat there for 15 minutes, just to make sure I wouldn't have to try to get in again. 6:00 came... and went. No City Worker. Maybe the City Worker can't get in. Maybe it's too crowded! there was a great panic. Everyone yelled, "Leave so the city worker can get in!" No one wanted to leave, but everyone wanted the other people to leave. It was pandemonium.

All of a sudden, the crowd fell silent. The City Worker was here! Some people grumbled about being late, but most people yelled, "Hey City Worker!" The City Worker (C.W. for short) started to explain the game.

"The game is kind of like 'Who Wants to be a Millionaire.' You answer a question for 25 clams. You then get to chose to stay or leave. If you stay you go on to a 50 question, a 100 question, etc. But if you get a question wrong, you lose all of the clams you have won already. The intervals are 25, 50, 100, 200, 400, and 800 clams. I will chose randomly from the crowd who gets to be the contestants. We will have as many contestants as there is time."

And so the game began. There were science questions, literature questions, music questions, and all sorts of other questions. I had to leave after about 20 minutes, but I saw no one win. Everyone continued until they got a question wrong. The person who got the highest was deriko. (Remember, I was only there about 20 minutes. Some one might have won later on.)

I had to leave to go to a piano lesson. Some people might go on later in the day and never found out about it. So maybe Whyville should hold another one. They could tell you about it for a week before hand so that everyone would have a chance to know about it. I'm just hoping that maybe I will get a chance to become a Whyvillainaire.
