A communicable
disease is a disease that can be spread by people being around someone who has a
communicable disease. One type of communicable disease is a common cold. A
common cold is a very contagious because you cough and sneeze out the bacteria.
The HIV virus that causes AIDS is less contagious because you can't spread it
just by being around other people, only by mixing body fluids.
A virus or
bacteria that is floating in the air can spread that germ. If you breathe it,
you can be infected. But your body makes antibodies that can fight off the
bacteria or virus.
Not all diseases
are communicable diseases. Malaria is not a communicable disease because
mosquitoes, not people, spread it.
Don't be around
someone for too long who has a communicable disease or else you will be exposed
to it and it will more likely to get you!
