After long consideration, and talking to many of you, we have decided that the time has come for Whyville to have its own magazine. Like Whyville, the magazine will be unique, and full of your ideas, thoughts and writing. This will be a real magazine, with the first issue sent to subscribers in early January of 2004.

Not only will the magazine be great, like Whyville, but subscriptions from the magazine will also help support Whyville, allowing us to continue to grow and expand our community.

Many of you have sent me y-mails asking how you can write for The Whyvillian. You will be hearing a lot more about that as the magazine continues to develop, however, right now, we are interested in hearing from you on two topics:

First, the magazine will have a section called "Ask The Whyvillian" in which you can send in your questions and ideas about Whyville -- and City Hall and other city workers will answer them and comment. the most interesting questions will be published in the magazine along with your Whyville name and picture of your Whyville face.

Second, we are interested in what you think about the idea of The Whyvillian -- we are definitely going to go ahead with this magazine, but in the first issue we would like to publish your thoughts about what this magazine could be, or should be, or what you would like it to be. Again, we will put some of the thoughts and ideas you send into the magazine, along with your Whyville name and face.

All the city workers are very excited about our new magazine, which will be much better than any magazine out there. But the magazine will only be as good as you make it.
