Hello! This is my first time writing an article, so bear with me!! Now, when I first arrived at Whyville, I saw many people with this disease called WhyPox. I was curious what these chicken-pock-look-alike spots were, so I did some research about them and here's what I've come up with:

How long does the WhyPox last?

Usually WhyPox lasts 5-7 days, although they may last longer, according to some people.

Is there a way to hide them?

I've seen some people who cover their faces completely so you can't see the WhyPox. They buy hair, sunglasses, extra eyes and lips -- anything to stop them from showing up! Now, I have also heard that you can buy masks that help... however, I'm pretty sure the stores are SOLD OUT on those parts! I also heard you can buy concealer or cover-up but, like the masks, they're usually sold out. Editor???s Note: Because of people using concealer and cover-up in inappropriate ways, nobody???s been allowed to create that kind of part in about two years.

How do you get the WhyPox?

The big mystery! Nobody really knows! My friend, SiLlYbUm was new here at the same time, and guess what? She got them! Since she was new here, she couldn???t chat with anyone, so therefore I think the rumors about getting the Pox by chatting to ill citizens is just that... a RUMOR!! However, I do believe she was hit with something in the WASA games... possibly a projectile. Personally, I think you get them from face parts. My friend bought some face parts -- mainly contacts and a head -- and when she wore them with her Geo-Dig helmet, she got the WhyPox.

Can you get WhyPox more than once?

After reading through the history at CDC, I have come to the conclusion that the WhyPox is very similar to real-life chicken pox -- you only get them once.

Is there a cure??

Unfortunately there is no cure as of yet, but if the Pox or some other disease comes to Whyville again, go to the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) in Whyville and get the lowdown. At the CDC, you can make predictions about WhyPox, join the WhyPox analysis team or contribute to the case files. If you help with the cure, you can earn clams and an Epidemiologist's License; you may also win a free Whyville 30-day pass.

Help stop the spread of WhyPox... go to the CDC the instant it breaks again!!!

Luv,
