What is style... on Whyville?
My definition: Style -- The mass-conceived norm for the arrangement of pixelated
images; first achieved by a few inspired citizens who took the time to change
the pre-existing norm, and mold it to fit their own image of superficial
perfection.
There you have it: What 'style' on Whyville is. For those of you who have been
on Whyville for as long as I have, you've seen the change, from BIG face
parts and using all of the omnipotent 'Rosie' head... to plastering her grandeur with
hair and using the remaining slice of face to cram eyes and nose and then
shove the mouth somewhere into the neck.
Of course, since it is (apparently) every citizen's dream to become the next
Aphrodite or Adonis on Whyville, they all strive -- like sheep -- to attain the
same image of perfection fused into the minds of all other citizens. (Heh, don't
get me started on WHY people are so bloody superficial on this site.)
So we all try to look "perfect".... What is perfection? Blonde hair, small eyes,
small mouth... small nose... mouth in the neck? (That really irks me... I don't
understand how that became a fashion statement, although only among the female
users -- guys only have, like, 4 mouths to choose from, LoL.)
Next time, when you go to splurge at Akbar's, don't buy what everyone else buys.
Buy something new! After all, Adonis wouldn't be nearly as attractive if
everyone looked just like him.
