On a hot, sunny afternoon, I run to my variety store to grab a refreshing drink of Coca-Cola. But sometimes I wonder, who invented this delicious drink? So I surfed the net to help you figure out who invented this world-famous liquid.

It all started wayyy back when a pharmacist named John Styth Pemberton introduced a new kind of drink called Coca-Cola in Atlanta, Georgia. Since then, Coca-Cola has become a mega-superstar and is sold more than 705 million times everyday to customers quenching their thirsts in over 195 countries!

His invention started out in May of 1886 when he concocted a caramel-colored syrup in his own backyard. His first business had him carrying around a jug filled with Coke. For only 5 cents, consumers could enjoy a refreshing glass of Coke.

Whether he made this soda on purpose, or accident, he formed the bond between carbonated water and new syrup described as simply "Delicious and Refreshing." He selected the Classic Logo with his partner and bookkeeper, Frank M. Robinson, who penned and suggested the unique logo for the world today.
