"Inside of a century, the pacific northwest could be struck by a magnitude 9
quake (Richter scale), shaking the region 10 times more violently than San
Francisco's famous 1906 quake for 12 times longer."
This was in the Oakland Tribune on December 21, 2003.
We all know that the San Francisco earthquake was scary and killed many
people. The earthquake they talk of in the Seattle area could be a 9.0. Highly
dangerous, this could bring down Whyville itself. The aftershock could perhaps
be as big as the San Francisco earthquake itself! The earthquake that happened caused San
Francisco to slant; could it be that this could make our world do the same...
but 12 times larger?
Ways you can be ready for these kinds of earthquakes are to have an
earthquake drill prepared for all times, preparing you how to get out of your
house and where to go. And remember that you should get under the nearest table
or stand under a doorway, or so I've been told.
Whyville should be warned of this and I believe that this could help.
Thanks for all your time and please be sure to follow safety precautions.
