Hello, my name is Newbert Bogert, New B. for short. I just came to Whyville
five days ago to explore the great wonders of this beautiful site. I thought everything was going to be great when
I first started chatting. However, there are others
who think differently.
I came to Whyville in hopes of meeting nice people who are just like me.
Some of the first people I found some looked really cool with all their great face parts.
Now, see, I don't know very much on how to earn clams, so I thought it would be
nice to ask some of my fellow Whyvillians for some friendly advice.I asked a
very interesting-looking person for some advice first. The response I got was
none-too-friendly, though: "Get lost
newb! We don't want you here, dork!" Well, I guess that was just the wrong person
to ask. I walked (or floated?) up to a friendly-looking person to ask what the name of their
very nice-looking eyes was. "Why would I tell some weird newb??" she
yelled. "Go away! Newbs are so gross!" Now, my hopes were pretty down. I
felt pretty disappointed
in my fellow Whyville peers by then. I didn't know what to do, feeling that
everyone in this place was rude.
"Hello, fellow Whyvillian!" I suddenly heard. "Welcome to Whyville... you look like you need
help." I saw a very awesome looking character, and I realized that the character
was talking to ME! I was really excited by this. We ended up talking and we became
fast friends. Now that I consider myself an "oldbie," I feel it is my duty to treat
other "newbs" with respect, because I know how hard it is to be the new kid in
town.
I sometimes watch how people make fun of the newbies, and I feel that it's really
hard for them to make friends if no one likes a "newb". All I can
ask from my fellow Whyville peers is, help out a newbie, because we all were
newbies at
one time. We all know how hard it was to make friends with the
"oldbies." Good luck all you wonderful newbies! Don't worry, your time will come,
too!
