It is a grisly, grotesque, greenish stick with a head covered in venomous
spears. Though it may appear harmless, the true nature of its foul being lies in
its juices, which pierce the mouth with a deadly, vile taste. With the first
bite, the mouth is exposed to these noxious liquids as the flavor immediately
permeates the entire body. The convulsions begin. The only thought and desire is
to expel the abomination. But once the body has been exposed to it, the effects
are inevitable.
Whether the stick is ejected from the mouth or quickly
swallowed, the remnants of the repulsive flavor linger and the shuddering
continues. The only way to relieve the agony is to dilute the poison with a long
drink. But these acts will only limit the aftertaste slightly, for the effects of this
treacherous thing are beyond imagination.
What is this object, you ask? What is
this vile, revolting spear?
It is the asparagus.
