Everyone should know that the election for the Whyville Senate has started. I have seen many people have entered their platform in the Whyville petitions at City Hall. I decided to read through some just to see what thoughts people had. I also wanted to see which people were getting the votes, to see how the election was going. I was shocked by some of the platforms and voters.

So many platforms were lies! Many people just want to become senator for fun. I could tell by some of the things they said in their platforms. They think if they become senator that they will get some kind of privileges.

I have seen a lot of promises that I knew had a slim chance of happening. I am not going to name anyone specific but I read one response who promised 1,000,000,000 clams to all citizens of Whyville. I also found people saying that they will get the mall open or make more rooms, or other things similar to these. It's okay if someone says they will try to make some of these things possible, but it's not all right if they promise they will make them come true. The senator does not have this much power. So watch out for these people! Don't vote for them because they said they will give you clams or make these outrageous things happen. They are lying.

How to tell if they are a good person to vote for:

~Look to vote for people who will try to stop problems.

~Look for people who seem like they are going to make an effort to make Whyville a better place. (This means don't vote for people who promise things such as free clams.)

-Look for people who are humble. (I don't mean people who don't seem confident, I mean people who aren't screaming "I AM THE BEST" or "I AM THE BETTER SENATOR TO VOTE FOR".)

~Vote for people who will help all groups of Whyville. For example, don't vote for someone who says they will help only newbies or says that they will get rid of all the goths. Look for equality in their writing.

Here are my tips and I hope they help. The rest is up to you. See if the person will really try to meet your Whyville needs. Don't just vote for random people, and remember, every vote counts.?? And when the final vote starts, you only get to choose one person!
