I am getting married in just a few days, and I started wondering: what is the married life like? Is it good or bad, and how do I get divorced if I need to? I decided to ask Jesscom, one of Whyvilles citizens who has been married almost three times.

Me: What do you mean, being married "almost" three times?
Jesscom: I was going to get married to Tjay, but he was cheating on me, I was going to get married to cool16, but he never writes, and now I am recently married to Ice Boy. Would you believe I got married in the factory district?

Me: Not the nicest spot to have a wedding. Did this wedding take a lot of planning?
Jesscom: With Tjay, I had planned to have it really fancy, with cool16 not really any planning, and with Ice Boy, I met him, went to the factory district, found a priest, and got married. I haven't really talked to him since.

Me: So what's it like getting married?
Jesscom: It's actually not that different from being friends with someone or going out with someone, except you have a title, and can't flirt with anyone :(

Me: So what happens if you want to get a divorce?
Jesscom: I'm not really sure. I'm guessing you just say, "I divorce you!" or something like that. And that's the end of it.

Me: So that sounds pretty simple.
Jesscom: Yeah, it really is.

Me: Why do you think some people get married?
Jesscom: You never have to worry about finding a date to the dance, and it gives you something to talk about, makes you seem popular.

Me: Is that why you got married?
Jesscom: Basically yeah. I mean, I've known Ice Boy for what, 2 minutes?

Me: So do you like Ice Boy?
Jesscom: Yeah, I guess.

Me: Thank you, that's all.

Now I talked to another whyville citizen. This time someone who has never been married, and doesn't plan on it, QTgurl101.

Me: So, I heard you have never been married and supposedly never want to.
QTgurl101: Well, it's not like real life. You know, you don't even fall in love, and it's really just for the sake of saying that you are married.

Me: So you don't think it's right to do it just for fun. I mean, you are really serious about the falling-in-love thing. Most people think of it as a game.
QTgurl101: Well, I base whyville on what I'd like to do in real life, and getting married and divorced a whole lot of times isn't right.

Me: Ok, thank you QTgurl101, that's it.

So those are two sides on marriage: Jesscom who does it for fun, and QTgurl101 who is very serious about it and doesn't believe in it. Decide for yourself if marriage is right for you!
