As you probably know, newbies aren't as beautiful or handsome as people
who have been around for a while. People make fun of them and disrespect
them because of this. They tease and sometimes don't even talk to people who
are ugly. Is this what you would have wanted when you came to Whyville? I
don't think so!
I have two friends who are new to Whyville, so I bought them some
things. Some people didn't like them because they didn't have Charity hair
and glossy lips. They were called names such as Freak and Ugly and people
said comments like "Go ----- yourself" and "Don't look she might hurt you with
her ugliness". This is not the kind of community I want to live in, or more
like these are not the people I would like to have in my community.
After thinking about this problem for a while I had a lottery (you didn't
have to pay for tickets) for people that I thought needed a makeover because
they were newbies or they gave lots of clams to the community so they didn't
have any. Each person that won got 100 clams! Most people did not reply but
one person that did asked for 300 clams worth of things! I bought her 110
clams worth of the things she requested and she got mad at me. I have never
talked to her since. That's all right with me though!
I just think this is wrong! We want to be happy, and we should be nice
to everyone so others can be happy too. If you do think that someone is
ugly, offer to buy them something or don't say anything at all! Think
about when you were a newbie, and how it would have made you feel. I don't
think we should just have taping for bad language. We should have it for mean
language too.
