Yes, the Whyville Times is 200 issues old! The first Times came out on July 22, 1999, and was only a few articles long, with everything written by City Workers.
In four and a half years, we've received close to 100,000 submissions, and published almost 4,000 articles. Whyvillian writers never cease to amaze us here at the Times -- you folks have so much imagination, critical thinking and creativity!
And this week's paper is no exception. Learn about Mimi's return from Times Writer Hermionez; investigate the meaning and methods of the news with TW BabyPowdr; find out how to work the Trading Post from fuschia99; and of course, read up on the Whyville Senate Debate from last week -- make sure you think about your vote carefully! I'm sure you all will.
We've come a long way.
Here's to another 200 issues,
Times Editor
