The Senate race is up and going! Woo!

I walk around and see so many people with "Vote for me!" signs, and people asking
for votes. I was deeply involved with one race, but this
time I decided to lay low. I was thinking about
running myself, but at the moment I find it impossible with all the work that
my teachers have thrown down at me... eek!

I wish luck to all people who are running and hoping to achieve this amazingly
important but hard job!

Now, if you are wanting to get votes and to actually make it anywhere, I have
some tips that I believe are more than useful.

1) DON'T just go around saying 'Vote for me!' Sit in the room and talk to certain
individuals and make believers out of them. Don't just tell them to vote for
you, give them reasons why they should and why you want to be the senator. People hear "vote
for me" all the time; I am more than sure that others want to hear
something different. And please, if someone doesn't want to listen to you, respect them and
go to the next.

2) Get your friends to spread word around about you, but don't make it so big

that it will end up harassing others. Only ask a few individuals to help you do what you would
normally do as a candidate (which means trying to sell yourself out there, like having a job
interview).

3) Keep your head up, no matter what people say to you. Don't let your emotions
take over -- keep your cool. People out there are intentionally testing you
to see what will happen, so if you keep your cool, they will be impressed

4) Don't judge. That's something you should even do if you are not running, but
respect others even if you don't know the person personally doesn't mean they
don't have feelings.

5) Get involved. There are so many things you can do to get your face out there!
You can become a Y-mail helper, go to the trivia contests on Friday and the TV
show talks on Wednesday, write articles and design face
parts. Get yourself out there!

6) Become friends with everyone and anyone you see, even if they have a weird
face part. It doesn't matter what they look like -- get to know everyone!
That way you can really represent your fellow Whyvillians, because you'll know
what everyone wants, and you'll be best able to figure out what everybody needs.

That's about all I can think of at the moment. Good luck to all participants!
